Focusing primarily in the areas of structured finance, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities transactions, domestic and international banking transactions, project finance, capital markets, distressed debt trading, second lien financing, institutional finance and private placements, Mr. Das represents numerous domestic and international banks as well as other institutions in all types of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.
Maintaining offices in New York, NY, and London, England, Mr. Das spends the majority of his time in New York. He is also involved in representing trustees, administrative agents, servicers and master servicers, trust administrators, collateral agents, hedge fund administrators and other service providers in asset-backed and mortgage-backed transactions, corporate finance transactions, project finance transactions and municipal finance transactions. Furthermore, he represents trustees, servicers, administrative agents, and bondholders in restructuring/workouts involving asset-backed and mortgage-backed transactions and corporate bankruptcies. During his tenure, Mr. Das has also been known to conduct numerous in-house training seminars for banks and financial institutions, and he has been an editor for the publication "Company Law."
Seward & Kissel was first founded in 1890 and has since become recognized as a leading U.S. law firm with an international reputation. Highly regarded for his work, Mr. Das was named to New York Super Lawyers numerous times over the past decade, Banking and Finance Law Firm of the Year in New York for 2016 and 2017 for his work by Global Law Experts, and was a large tier winner of Corporate International Magazine's Legal Award for Project Finance Law Firm of the Year in 2013 and 2014 in New York.
He also received numerous national and international awards, and received a Finance Monthly Deal Maker of the Year Award in 2014. He's also been consistently named to Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in the World.
Married with two children, Mr. Das has also been known to serve on the board of directors for NYU School of Law.
