TULSA, OK, November 13, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Morgan, Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of operations management.

With professional experience that spans over 18 years, Ms. Morgan excels in operations management. At her current post, she is responsible for budgeting, allocation reporting, grant writing, and managing a leadership team of 64 employees at six satellite offices and six camp properties in eastern Oklahoma. She is a recipient of the THANKS Badge, the highest award given to members of the Girl Scout organization, the Women of Distinction Award from Ozark Area Girl Scout Council and The Best of TCC from Tulsa Community College. She considers her passion for her profession to be the driving force behind her success. Her desire to serve the community inspired her to become involved in her profession.

A Certified Girl Scout Executive Officer (CGSEO) Ms. Morgan received her Master's Degree in Environmental Studies in 1988 and her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Geography in 1985 from Oklahoma State University. She is a board member of the state board of the Oklahoma Women's Coalition and an advisory board member of the Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College. She is a member of the American Association of University Women the Tulsa Sunrise Rotary, and the Association of Girl Scouts Executive Staff (AGSES).

The Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to empowering girls through educational programs. The program reaches out to girls in all of eastern Oklahoma, in low income housing communities and serves the daughters of incarcerated mothers in five state prisons.
