-- Karl Lintner, President and Owner of KAL'idees, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in cosmetics consulting.
Karl Lintner got his start in the cosmetic industry after 10 years of working in scientific research, and then working as a laboratory manager, and then a marketing manager for cleaning and sanitation in the food industry. However, when he returned to France, he was hired by a company to work on ingredients for cosmetic applications. The highlight of his career was helping a small family-style company, Sederma, integrate into the fold of a multinational company, Croda, and easing the 'culture shock' for mutual benefit and synergy. During this process, he introduced the concept and use of bio-peptides to the cosmetic industry making MATRIXYL a household name.
Currently, Dr. Lintner uses his expertise to consult for beauty ideas in the cosmetic industry. Adept at communicating technical and difficult matters to different levels of understanding, he is also very successful at finding ideas and patterns for developing specific ingredients and then translating those ideas and concepts to be used in manufacturing. In addition, Mr. Lintner conducts expert witness work and teaches classes on cosmetic chemistry, general and specific topics on ingredients, activities, claim substantiation, formulation, perfumery, and related subjects, to BS and Master levels, for national and international courses, at University Versailles Saint Quentin. He also teaches students at the ISIPCA school in Versailles, and trains professionals via the Ptolemee and SpecialChem4Cosmetics organizations He is writing a technical book on scientific matters. He attributes his success to his hard work and charisma.
Dr. Lintner received a Ph.D. in chemistry and biochemistry from Technische Universität Wien and holds a degree in chemical engineering. He is a member of several prestigious industry organizations including the Society of Cosmetic Chemists - United States, Societe Française de Cosmetologie, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftliche und Angewandte Kosmetik.
In recognition of his work, he was honored with the 2012 Maison de Navarre Medal by the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, was named a Lifetime Achievement Finalist by In-Cosmetics, Paris and once received the Best Speaker Award from the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, UK. He serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, and will assume the position of Chief Editor in January 2013.
