Ms. Spaht is an expert in family law. She has 36 years of professional experience in law education. She lectures family, succession, community, property and civil law education to graduate students and assists attorneys in their law practices. She served as the vice chancellor of Louisiana State University Law Center for three years. She also worked on the legislative drafting staff for the state of Louisiana. She published articles on family law in 2004, and conducts research and reads journals to keep current of the new trends in her profession.

Ms. Spaht earned her JD from Louisiana State University Law Center in 1971 and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Mississippi in 1968. She is affiliated with the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana State Law Institute and The American Law Institute.
