Kathleen Anderson Walk, M.D. Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who For Outstanding Achievement in Health Care

    Nebraska, United States, November 27, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen A. Walk, M.D. was honored by Worldwide Who's Who for exhibiting excellence, achievement, and longevity in the health care field.

Inspired by a missionary nurse, Kathleen Anderson Walk, M.D. pursued a degree in health care. Throughout her academic pursuits, Dr. Walk completed a Bachelor of Arts in general science and Christianity from Dana College, an MD and a Fellowship in obstetrics from University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a Fellowship in oncology. She has also earned an honorary Doctor of Theology from University of Nigeria, Golden Gate University, and Trinity College of the Ministerial Arts, Nigeria. Upon completion of the degrees, Dr. Walk gained experience as a medical director, practice administrator, and practicing physician.

Drawing on her educational background and wealth of experience, Dr. Walk founded Hope International Services, a nonprofit organization promoting Christian missionary endeavors. As executive director of the organization, she conducts international radio ministry events and lectures on third world health care needs. Dr. Walk also orchestrates an annual conference every Autumn to support the Hope International Services ministry. The organization has built hospitals in Bangladesh and Nigeria, and built orphanages in Africa, thus far. The upcoming conference will raise funding for a primary and secondary school in Malawi.

Naturally philanthropic, Dr. Walk oversees a team of volunteers who travel to various parts of the world to help underprivileged countries and people. They focus on areas of impoverished countries which are often overlooked by larger nonprofit organizations.

Throughout her impressive career, Dr. Walk has garnered many awards. She was honored with the Humanitarian Award by the American Academy of Family Practice, a two-time recipient of America's Top Family Doctors award, and named Nebraska Family Physician of the Year. Additionally, her unparalleled success has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who, Who's Who Among American Executives, and The World's Who's Who of Women, among others.

Understanding the importance of business relationships and networking, Dr. Walk has devoted her time to industry and community-related affiliations. She serves as a senior delegate for the National Academy of Family Practice (where she previous reigned as president, vice president, board member, and treasurer), on the church council and board of directors for St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and once served on the long range planning committee, nominating committee, and legislation committee for the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians.

Attributing her acclaim and success to hard work and perseverance, Dr. Walk intends to travel around the world helping additional people and countries in the coming years.
