Dr. Kuwata is active as a member of the Air Environmental Society of Japan and as emeritus of the American Chemical Society and the Air and Waste Management Association. He is a retired member of the Japan Chemical Society and the Analytical Society of Japan. He has been named to Who's Who in Asia, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.
