- September 19, 2007 - Mr Stewart brings over 25 years of experience in crude oil and oil product prices, pricing mechanisms in commodities, and quantitative and technical market analysis to KBC. Previously a director of Platts, he joins KBC as a Principal Consultant in our oil markets analysis team.
Prior to arriving at KBC, Peter worked for nearly 20 years of his career at Platts; his most recent post was Director of Markets and Pricing, where he was responsible for global energy price assessment processes across the range of commodities, including oil, gas, petrochemicals, coal, power, emissions, renewable energies, metals, and steel.
While with Platts, Peter covered the oil markets in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. His roles also included Oil Director for Europe, Africa, Middle East, Russia and Central Asia and manager of the news and price assessment teams in the European region. Peter has edited "Platts Analytics" and held various other senior positions with Platts around the world. He also served with Reuters news agency from 1987-1991. Stewart holds a Diploma in Technical Analysis of Markets from the Society of Technical Analysts, and he graduated in 1982 from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he majored in Arabic.
Over the last two years, the KBC Market Services division has completed over 20 due diligence-related engagements for refiners, investment banks, and other financial institutions with a global geographic spread. This is in addition to the retained client base of around 60 of the world's leading oil and energy companies served on a daily basis.
