KBC SIGNS AGREEMENT FOR LUMMUS ETHYLENE FURNACE MODEL

KBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. (KBC) announces the recent agreement with ABB Lummus Global (Lummus) to license their new kinetic-based ethylene furnace software, Pyrolysis Yield Prediction System, (PYPS+TM).

/24-7PressRelease/ - September 13, 2006 - KBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. (KBC) announces the recent agreement with ABB Lummus Global (Lummus) to license their new kinetic-based ethylene furnace software, Pyrolysis Yield Prediction System, (PYPS+TM).

The agreement brings together ABB Lummus Global's expertise as the world leader in ethylene technology with KBC's unparalleled profit improvement methodology and process simulation software.

KBC will use Lummus' proven, rigorous pyrolysis furnace model in its consulting work to evaluate and optimize its clients' petrochemical and refinery-petrochemical complexes.

The latest version of the PYPS+ furnace model will be integrated into Petro-SIMTM, KBC's industry-leading process simulation software. Petro-SIM currently includes KBC's rigorous SIM models of refinery and aromatics units within a full-featured flowsheeting environment. The addition of the ethylene furnace model further extends these capabilities to produce a fully integrated model to optimize refining, aromatics, and olefins processes.

George Bright, CEO of KBC commented, "The interface between refining and petrochemicals is often an area for significant profit improvement. With Lummus' PYPS+ model and Petro-SIM, these opportunities can be thoroughly investigated."
