    GOLDEN, CO, January 10, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kelly A. Manning, State Director Colorado Small Business Development Center Network for the State of Colorado, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in government.

Ms. Manning has 17 years of professional experience, with 13 years as state director of the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network. Over the years, she has established herself as an expert in conflict resolution through her experience working in diverse conditions. On a daily basis, she is responsible for managing changes within the organization, as well as within programs. She negotiates contracts, oversees federal programs and compliance, and works with key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met.

Through Ms. Manning's leadership and ability to manage change, the Colorado SBDC successfully increased the assistance of jobs created by 738 percent, jobs retained by 1,138 percent, capital formation that clients obtained by 244-percent and increased the return on investment by more than 50 percent. Her capacity to align their continually changing goals with the statewide strategies has proven to be highly successful based on the results.

Looking back, Ms. Manning attributes her success to her hard work and dedication. She successfully moved up the ranks to her executive position by migrating through diverse cultures and administrations. She became involved in her profession because business has always been her passion. She obtained an undergraduate degree and naturally progressed in her field. Helping individuals to realize their dreams of owning their own businesses is a win-win situation for her. She has always wanted to help people and this position enables her to work in her area of expertise and give back to the community. The highlight of her career was seeing the businesses in Colorado succeed and hearing how people's dreams have come true by being their own boss. Additionally, taking a poorly performing program and creating a national model was another notable moment in her career.

Ms. Manning received a master's degree from the University of Denver in 2006, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 1989. In addition to her degrees, she is certified in dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation and facilitation. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with various boards, as well as the Governor's Small Business Advisory Council, the National Accreditation Committee of America's Small Business Development Centers and the State of Colorado Disaster Recovery Committee. In recognition of her passion and dedication, Ms. Manning has been presented with an award for outstanding service in community outreach, and she was featured in "ColoradoBIZ" in May of 2013. She has been named as a Navy spouse of the year. In 2008, Ms. Manning planned, resourced and executed specialty programs for women entrepreneurs in Colorado.
