Prior to joining ViaSat, he was President and CEO of the SpyGlass Group, where he worked primarily with small and mid-sized businesses to develop business transformation and turnaround strategies, and President and General Manager of Exelis Communications and Force Protection Systems with portfolio responsibilities that included Communications Systems, Information Assurance and Cyber Solutions, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and Electronic Protection and Counter IED Systems serving the aerospace and defense markets in over 35 countries.

Mr. Peterman is a proven leader and respected senior executive who has consistently demonstrated the ability to enhance customer satisfaction and shareholder value in a variety of diverse leadership roles across the defense and aerospace community with six market leading companies. Additionally, he has consistently transformed talented individual contributors into strong, cohesive teams and has built numerous winning teams over the course of his very successful career. Mr. Peterman received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering with high honors from Tri-State University, which is now known as Trine. In addition to this degree, he has completed executive education programs at The Pennsylvania State University and Stanford University. He is the chairman of the Indiana Aerospace and Defense Council and a member of the AFCEA, the National Defense Industry Association, and the Association of the United States Army.
