Kenneth Gribetz Honored for Excellence in Criminal Law

Mr. Gribetz was elected as the district attorney of Rockland County



    NEW CITY, NY, September 21, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kenneth Gribetz, Esq., a partner in the law firm of Gribetl & Loewenberg, PLLC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the practice of criminal law.

Mr. Gribetz has set himself apart through his tireless work in defending his clients facing criminal charges in both New York State and in federal courts.

While still a law student at NYU School of Law in New York City, Mr. Gribetz worked as an intern at the Department of Investigations for the City of New York. After being admitted to the New York State bar, he joined the prestigious office of New York County District Attorney Frank Hogan, where he worked as an Assistant District Attorney from 1968 to 1972. He handled thousands of matters, became lead counsel on many trials, earning a stellar reputation as a dedicated and brilliant criminal trial litigator.

Mr. Gribetz was the elected District Attorney for Rockland County, New York, and served six terms in that position with distinction. He prosecuted many notorious criminals and tried many homicide cases to verdict. Some of his prosecutions received international coverage, including the Brinks trials, the Sohn murder trial and the Edward Summers murder trial.

Mr. Gribetz and Deborah Wolikow Loewenberg, Esq., his partner, formed their criminal defense firm in 2008. Ms. Loewenberg, formerly an Assistant Attorney General, an Assistant District Attorney in charge of Appeals, and a general practitioner, devote their practice to representing individuals under investigation and those actually facing criminal prosecution in New York. Their combined experiences as both prosecutors and defense counsel have contributed to their excellent reputation throughout their community.

Mr. Gribetz received his JD from New York Law School, and his undergraduate degree from the City College of New York, where he was Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Gribetz was past president of the New York State District Attorney's Association, and he received honorary doctorates of law from both St. Thomas Aquinas and Dominican College, both in Rockland County, New York. Mr. Gribetz also received an AV-Preeminent Peer Review rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Ms. Loewenberg received her JD from Pace University School of Law where she was Managing Editor of the Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY at Stony Brook. Both Mr. Gribetz and Ms. Loewenberg were adjunct professors of law, teaching classes in criminal law at Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY.
