Ms. Brookes has owned and operated Seams Sew Special, a sewing education and design company, for the past 16 years, and has been sewing all of her life. Specializing in software and machine embroidery, Ms. Brookes utilizes 5D embroidery software on high embroidery machines, teaching students how to use the automated equipment to make beautiful work. Traveling nationally to conduct classes in various sewing stores, she even creates the software programs that she teaches. In addition to running her own company, Ms. Brookes is a freelance educator for Pfaff and Husqvarna Canada. She is also a Web retailer and wholesaler of her own products, as well as Criswell embroidery products. Attributing her success to hard work, Ms. Brookes became involved in her profession when the decorative sewing machines came on the market. She studied them at a local sewing store and was a quick study. Because of her skill and the fact that she was way ahead of everyone else, the store's proprietors convinced her to teach.

In order to ensure a well-rounded education, Ms. Brookes took several college courses in business. She is an active participant in her community and holds membership in various local associations. In the future, Ms. Brookes intends to continue on her path of success and grow her already-flourishing business.
