Kevin Olmstead Recognized for Professional Excellence

Kevin Olmstead named Professional of the Year for 2009-2010



    ANN ARBOR, MI, July 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Olmstead, Environmental Engineer for Tetra Tech, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in environmental engineering. Mr. Olmstead was chosen as Cambridge's 2009 Professional of the Year in Environmental Engineering from out of more than 400,000 registry members. He was selected by a special committee based on his professional achievements and demonstrated leadership.

Backed by nearly two decades experience and a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan, Kevin Olmstead is a seasoned authority on wastewater treatment under employment by Tetra Tech, Inc. as an environmental engineer.

The Ann Arbor native rose to fame in April of 2001, when he won $2.18 million on the popular television show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," and broke the record for highest total winnings earned on a game show. His record lasted for three and a half years until Ken Jennings broke it in November of 2004. He currently ranks third, behind Jennings and Brad Rutter, who won "Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions."

Today, Mr. Olmstead serves as the founding member of the National Academic Quiz Tournaments, a company that runs quiz bowl national championship tournaments for high school and college students. He is also a member of Toastmasters International, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Water Environment Federation.

For his professional and personal success earned to date, Mr. Olmstead credits his persistence, passion for his profession and detail-oriented nature.
