Admission is FREE with the donation of new or used clean clothes, which will benefit the Safe Horizon Streetwork Project, a program that assists nearly 10,000 NYC homeless people each year with temporary and permanent housing and other vital essentials.
Kevin Powell's Holiday Party and Clothing Drive has become one of the most anticipated and successful charity events of the season in New York City and a great example of Powell's drive to mobilize the community for a local charitable cause. Making its return to the phenomenal and spacious venue, Powell has many treats in store for his guests. From a special VIP screening of Still Bill documentary based on the life and music of Bill Withers ("Lean on Me" and "Ain't No Sunshine") preceding the main event, to 12 short films, a comedy room full of NYC's best up and coming comics, an acoustic lounge with over twenty live performances plus a jam session, live art, a fashion installment presented by the BK Style Foundation, a NY Post "Meat Market" Blind date event, a tech lounge for X-BOX gaming and live blogging and what party would be complete without a lounge for dancing-with music by the Legendary Celebrity DJ and Philanthropist Beverly Bond as well as DJ's Reborn and Misdemeanor; this simply a must attend event.

About Kevin Powell: Kevin Powell, a long-time resident of Brooklyn, is a writer, activist, multimedia personality, and public speaker. He is the author or editor of 10 books, the most recent release being Open Letters to America; and he was a Democratic candidate in the 2008 Congressional primary in Brooklyn, New York. Kevin was also a founding staff member at Vibe magazine where he interviewed, among many others, the late Tupac Shakur on several occasions.
