ROSEMEAD, CA, November 04, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/
-- KingIce.com, a popular online hip hop jewelry
retailer, will be holding both Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Traditionally, online retailers rely on Cyber Monday, the Monday following Black Friday, for an increase in sales to kick off the holiday shopping season. In a bold move, KingIce.com will offer two unique sales to attract customers on both shopping days.
Camping out at big-box retailers has been a custom for many Americans the day after Thanksgiving. In recent years however, Black Friday sales have been creeping towards Black Thursday. In 2011 Retailers such as Best Buy, Target , and Kohls held Black Friday sales at midnight, or in some cases, late Thanksgiving night. The earlier Black Friday sales may have led to many potential bargain campers moving their campsites to a computer.
According to comScore, Black Friday in 2011 saw $816 million in online sales, which represented a 26% increase in spending compared to Black Friday 2010. Even with brick-and-mortar retailers opening their doors earlier to compete with online retailers, online shopping is stronger than ever. In 2011, Cyber Monday exceeded $1 billion in online spending making it the heaviest online spending day ever. King Ice expects 2012 to be another record setting year.
"Cyber Monday in 2011 was our heaviest day of the year in terms of traffic." said Tom Diep of King Ice. "We're expecting a significant increase this year. For the surge of Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers we'll be having some great deals that customers won't find anywhere else."
