Ms. Cannon returned to her native Houston after several years of working in the fast-paced corporate world of New York City. An expert in marketing, public relations and event management, she boasts an impressive background in organizing and chairing luncheons, events and galas for numerous nonprofit organizations. Her experience has afforded her the resources, confidence and knowledge to coordinate events varying in style and sophistication from corporate speaker breakfasts for 30 to black tie galas for 400.
Established in 2007, The Cannon Affair benefits greatly from Ms. Cannon's experience and specializes in planning and coordinating events for corporations and non-profit organizations, as well as personal gatherings such as weddings, birthday parties and reunions. As the president, she places emphasis on individualized, full-service plans which cover all conceivable aspects of an event, including location, menu, decor, entertainment, photography and invitations. Her team also provides pre- and post-event public relations and marketing, which include press releases and advertising.
In addition to industry-related training, Ms. Cannon holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas. She is affiliated with the Junior League, the Zoo Friends of Houston, the Houston Ballet Guild, the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary, the Houston Young Republicans and the Houston Heart Guild. Recognitions she has been honored with include the 2008 Ovation Award, an honor bestowed on dynamic young leaders who make significant charitable, philanthropic and civic contributions to Houston. Ms. Cannon enjoys running her own business and looks forward to developing the company further in the coming years.
