Kristina Martell Barnaby Recognized for Excellence in Teaching

    Fairfield, CT, January 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kristina Martell Barnaby, Mathematics Teacher, Learning Specialist for Fairfield Country Day School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

With 15 years of professional experience, Ms. Barnaby specializes in teaching mathematics. She teaches eighth and ninth-grade algebra, helps write curriculum with other teachers in the department, organizes professional development, and works with teachers to tailor their lessons to meet the needs of students with differing abilities. While working as a newspaper journalist, she wrote a story that described her "day-in-the-life" as a kindergarten teacher. It was from that experience that she desired to make an impact on children's lives as a teacher. She attributes her success to the support of her family, her professors, and husband.

Ms. Barnaby received her master's degree in educational leadership and administration from The George Washington University in 2009 and her master's degree in special education from The University of Florida in 1994. She has attained certification in administration, mathematics, and special education. She also is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the New England Association for Learning Specialists.
