As the author and owner of Jungle House Publications, Ms. Miller writes and publishes original and creative children's literature. She also presents at public speaking engagements, and markets her publishing projects, essentially providing her own publicity. Jungle House Publications is a publishing company that specializes in wildlife books for children. Ms. Miller's 2005 book, 'Dillo: A Baby Armadillo's Adventure on Sanibel Island,' was a first-runner up for the 2009 Eric Hoffer Award in legacy fiction. In 2011, she received a President's Book Award silver medal through the Florida Publishers Association. She attributes her success to her passion for teaching children and her love for wildlife.
Ms. Miller earned a Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Slippery Rock University in 1986, having received a Master of Science in physical education and coaching from Ohio University in 1983. She is the vice president and treasurer of the Florida Publishers Association, as well as a member of the Gulf Coast Writers Association, the Independent Book Publishers Association, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. With her 2012 children's book release of 'Trouper - the True Adventures of a Blind Raccoon: The Beginning,' the first of a series, Ms. Miller intends to reach as many children as possible through her writing. In the years to come, Ms. Miller's writing and public appearances will focus on respecting and protecting all animals.
