GWANGJU, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, February 23, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Kyu Zong Cho has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Cho has been working as a professor for more than 40 years in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Chonnam National University, since 1991. He has been working on FEM based mechanical analysis and simulation for industry and graduate students. From 1990 to 1992, he held the position of chairman of the department of mechanical engineering. Prior to these appointments, he was an assistant (1976-77), instructor (1978-79), assistant professor (1980-83), vice professor (1984-89) and worked his way to his current position.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Cho pursued an education at Chonnam National University, earning a Bachelor's degree in engineering in 1974. He followed this accomplishment with a Master's degree in engineering at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology in 1976. Dr. Cho completed his studies at Chunbuk National University, graduating in 1987 with a Doctor of Philosophy.
From 1999 to 2005, he was an Executive Director of Chonnam Regional BK21 (Brain Korea 21) which was a conjugate Education Project for Chonnam National University, Chosun University and Mokpo National University. From 2010 to 2013, he was Executive Vice President of KAPID (Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development).
In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Cho is affiliated with various organizations related to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society for Experimental Mechanics, SAE International, and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers. Looking towards the future, Dr. Cho hopes to cement his status as a hard-working and long-standing figure in his field while passing on his knowledge to the next generation of engineers at Chonnam National University.
