L.A. Best-selling Author speaks on Bridging the Gap Between Chinatown's Youth

    VALENCIA, CA, February 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ernesto Caravantes, Motivational Speaker and Best-selling Author, will hold a special presentation at Chinatown Service Center located at 767 North Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012 this Friday, February 5, 2010 at 5pm. Caravantes' presentation, "Building a Bridge" will encourage the Chinese and Hispanic youth of Chinatown to build a brighter future together.

Ernesto is determined to help the youth minorities to pave a road of academic success and cultural unity. As the son of Mexican immigrants, Ernesto struggles with similar experience as today's minorities. With these experiences, he is able to relate to and speak on these issues.

"The community of Chinatown is diverse and yet divided, despite the common backgrounds of our immigrant residents," says Danee Prasert, Senior Program Assistant Specialist, CSCLA. In response, "I am honored to be invited to speak at the Chinatown Service Center for Los Angeles," says Ernesto. "My presentation will be part of the center's Bridging the Gap (BTG) project.

Chinatown Service Center (CSC) is a non-profit social service agency that provides services to the disadvantage immigrant population in Chinatown and other nearby areas.

About Ernesto Caravantes:

As a young child, Ernesto struggled in school and faced expulsion, with the help of his Immigrant parents and education he learned English. Ernesto graduated high school and went on to graduate from California State University- Long Beach with a degree in Counseling. With his early struggles in remedial English in his past, Ernesto wrote "Clipping Their Own Wings", a best-selling novel.

Today, Ernesto has become a Best-selling Author, social critic, counselor, public speaker and an educator.
