When Vicki first set upon a career in
landscaping services over a decade ago, she never realised how well an interest in Feng Shui would serve her. On a recent landscaping services job at a North Balgowlah property, the Terrey Hills based gardener pooled her Horticultural background with some simple Feng Shui principles in an effort to encourage the busy occupants to spend more time at home relaxing. The major landscaping services feature, an impressive 1.5 meter high limestone waterfall, is located on the right hand side of the front yard, which Vicki said was an area lacking the positive influence of "helpful people and travel".
The relaxing sound of the waterfall, which can only be heard from the property, and not in the street, signifies tranquility and provides an instant calm when the residents arrive home. "There were a lot of reasons telling us to put the waterfall in that part of the property. The garage comes out past the rest of the house on the left hand side, leaving the opposite side empty," Vicki said. Balancing the space with a waterfall has also helped curb the rush of energy which inevitably flows downwards onto this lower block. "In feng shui the best position for your home is the upper side of the street, where energy is received in a controlled manner," Vicki said of this Sydney landscaping services project.
"This home is on the downside, but even if you live at the bottom of a hill, there are remedies to manipulate the movement of energy. In this case, the waterfall has been used to 'cure' the energy," she said.
