GAITHERSBURG, MD, March 3, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larocca 'Rocky' Jones, Personnel Management Specialist, Retired from the United States Navy, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Military Support Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Larocca 'Rocky' Jones dedicated over 35 years of her professional career to the service as a Personnel Management Specialist. Expert in organizational management, she masterfully oversaw and managed the Naval Research Laboratory as well as the Office of Naval Research awards and training programs. Aside from her responsibilities as a personnel manager, Ms. Jones also served as a clerk-stenographer for a variety of naval divisions including the Naval Ordnance Station, the Air Research and Development Command, the Military Air Transport Service, the USN Hydrographic Office.

Aside from her work with the military, Ms. Jones was fortunate enough to travel the world through her participation in several mission trips, which brought her to Russia, Africa and Bolivia. Her other endeavors include acting as an amateur radio operator of KC4UXO and participating in seminars on a myriad of topics from stress management to ghosts, angels and UFOs. Ms. Jones, a dynamic and spirited individual, credits the success she has enjoyed throughout her career to the inspiration she received from her grandmother, who she recalls as a strong, organized woman and natural leader. As with her other recognitions from Cambridge Who's Who, Ms. Jones dedicates her most recent honor to her grandmother.

An alumna of the University of Maryland University College, Ms. Jones holds a master of arts in general administration and a bachelor of arts in behavioral science, earned in 1987 and 1980 respectively. She is a public speaker for the International Toastmistress Club and maintains affiliation with the Montgomery Amateur Radio Club, the American Association of University Women and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. She is also an active supporter of the American Red Cross, through which she has donated a remarkable 18 gallons of blood.
