Latino Comedian Jade Esteban Estrada Returns to the Guadalupe Theatre in San Antonio

    SAN ANTONIO, TX, June 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jade Esteban Estrada, the man Out Magazine calls "the first gay Latin star," performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Historic Guadalupe Theatre located at 1301 Guadalupe Street in San Antonio, Texas. Musician Joel Settles, flamenco dancer Vanessa Centeno and comedian Mark Riojas will also perform.

The San Antonio native won his first paid role as a professional actor at the Guadalupe Theatre in 1986 in the play "Ma'ii the Coyote" directed by Luis Rodriguez.

Estrada won the 2009 Best Overall Comedic Performance Award from Slice of Comedy. His television credits include appearances on "30 Rock" (NBC), "The Graham Norton Effect" (Comedy Central) and was the host of the 19th Annual South Florida GLAAD Media Awards (Bravo). His Latin music can be heard on the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning police drama "The Shield."

Ramona Flume of Popular Hispanics raves, "The Prince of Pride has taken showbiz by storm in every possible way." The Topeka Capital-Journal calls him "one of the finest solo theatre artists of the 21st century."

Estrada reprises his role as Jax Curtiz in the feature film "Acrocrypha" directed by Brett William Mauser which will premiere June 27, 2010.

During the month of May, the Obama Administration invited him to The White House to attend the State Arrival Ceremony welcoming the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon and First Lady Margarita Zavala.

"Jade Esteban Estrada is not an icon by accident," warns Notes from Hollywood. The Oklahoma Gazette calls him "a prominent and controversial gay Latin entertainer."
