/24-7PressRelease/ -- Latvian athlete and Youtube sensation Oleg Vorslav, of Dvinsk-Clan fame, has become the latest in a group of world renowned Freerunning/Parkour athletes to join the American based WFPF (World Freerunning & Parkour Federation). In doing so, Oleg has joined the ranks of an elite group of the world's best and most well known Freerunners, which include Liverpool natives Daniel Ilabaca and Ryan Doyle, who have all come together as founding members of the World Freerunning & Parkour Federation.
Oleg first became known worldwide as the star of the Freerunning/Parkour Youtube video entitled "Russian Ninjas, Russian Climbing Ninja, Parkour in Latvia." This video has attracted a cult following all around the world among not just people familiar with the Freerunning/Parkour movement but "non-believers" as well. Since the original video was posted on Youtube in 2006, it has garnered almost 4.4 million views, and hundreds of thousands more on re-edits of the same video re-posted by Youtube fans Oleg, totaling almost 20 million.
Oleg also helped bring Freerunning/Parkour to the world's attention as a featured performer in the Madonna "Confessions" Tour and her music video to the top selling song, "Jump."
A spokesperson from the WFPF says, "We are ecstatic to have Oleg sign with us! We have known about him for quite some time, and have always wanted to work with him. He is one of the best in the world and brings a huge amount of added credibility to our already elite roster of athletes." Oleg, who was a protege of Frenchman and Freerunning founder Sebastien Foucan, is also very excited about his new partnership with the WFPF. His first meeting with them was while participating in the World Firefighter Games in the UK in late 2008. He had heard that there were representatives from the WFPF who were attending and who were anxious to meet him and that one of those representatives had previously made an unsuccessful 24 hour trip to Latvia in search of Oleg! It only took one meeting with the WFPF and Oleg wanted to sign on, and has not looked back. Oleg has already been hired by Sony/Ericsson to do an international commercial for them, based on his association with the WFPF, and he has just returned from Mexico City where he was shooting the spot.
