Laura's House Tees it Up to End Domestic Violence

Third annual HOPE golf event at Marbella Country Club to raise funds for survivors of domestic abuse

LADERA RANCH, CA, July 08, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laura's House, a nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and education of domestic violence, will host its third annual HOPE Tournament: Building Brighter Futures for Families Affected by Domestic Violence. The 2015 charity golf tournament, sponsored by South County Auto Group at Mission Viejo, tees off on August 10, at Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano, and will benefit Laura's House and its mission of ending the silence of domestic violence.

"Each year, the HOPE Golf Tournament raises critical funds that directly impact the lives of the families we serve, as events like this help bring us closer to providing a safe refuge and support services to all families who need them in our community," said Margaret Bayston, CEO and Executive Director, Laura's House. "Despite the estimated need for nearly 4,000 emergency shelter beds for victims of domestic violence in Orange County, less than 400 currently exist, and we are deeply grateful to every HOPE tournament participant for helping us close this gap."

The HOPE Tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with registration, putting, pitch contests and a box lunch from Sundried Tomato, followed by a shotgun start at noon. Each tournament foursome will use a scramble format and participate in long drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one contests. The hole-in-one contests, sponsored by South County Auto Group and Friedmann & Friedmann Insurance Services, feature a Lexus IS250 on holes #4 and #11 and a Fiat 500 Pop on holes #7 and #16. Anchor Brewing Company will supply beer at the clubhouse and Frijolitos Mobile Coffee and Bagels & Brew will provide morning refreshments. The tournament will conclude with an awards celebration at 5:30 p.m. featuring wine and spirits, a stationed dinner, silent and live auctions, opportunity drawing and live entertainment by Acoustic for A Change. San Juan Capistrano-based Fluidmaster also will be recognized for its outstanding philanthropic spirit, volunteerism and community support of Laura's House.
