/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, June 26, 2008 - iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a global provider of services that unify the management of enterprise mobility, and Vistorm, the information security services company, today announced that leading law firm Lawrence Graham LLP has implemented a fully managed, secure remote working solution based around the iPass Mobile Office service. The new system, designed to give employees fast and secure access to critical corporate data and applications from wherever they work from around the world, was rolled out in just three months from inception in March 2008.
With an unreliable legacy dial-up system in place, Lawrence Graham knew that it had to make a substantial upgrade in order to improve service levels for its globally distributed client base. Requiring a single interface that would allow easy connection over a range of access technologies including Wi-Fi hotspots, hotel Ethernet as well as 3G mobile broadband, it turned to integration specialist, Vistorm.
"With clients spread around the world, we have a responsibility to ensure our staff can continue to use their applications and data as if they were in the office, no matter whether they connect from an airport, hotel or caf " commented Jason Petrucci, Director of Information Technology, Lawrence Graham LLP. "The iPass solution and related technologies that Vistorm implemented have given us these functionalities and more. We had evaluated a number of other mobility systems on the market, but none was as comprehensive as the iPass offering."
The iPassConnect mobility manager provides Lawrence Graham users with a unified login and authentication process, whether they are connecting via a hotspot in India, a hotel in America, or through 3G mobile broadband in the UK. Because the company benefits from a flat rate pricing model including unlimited worldwide dial, Wi-Fi and Ethernet access as well as 3G mobile broadband domestically, users get to connect via the most effective means, rather than being restricted to the cheapest.
Lawrence Graham users will primarily utilize the service to access email from their hotels or airports whilst on the move, but the system will also allow full access to the company's Microsoft Office suite, Interwoven document management system, an Interaction CRM application and Sharepoint 2007 server functionalities.
"The professional services industry is just one of the many sectors in which iPass can prove to be invaluable, as the service-driven environment is perfectly supported by robust and pervasive connectivity," said Azadar Shah, Sales Director, UK & Ireland, iPass. "Vistorm has added further value to this by implementing a complete secure remote access solution with SSL technologies, as well as providing deployment services and service support."
In addition to the iPass Mobile Office service, the complete managed solution from Vistorm includes a Citrix solution and Microsoft Windows Server for remote application delivery, Juniper Secure Access for SSL VPN technology and Cisco ASA Firewall technology for perimeter security. The systems are also designed to failover to a separate disaster recovery facility should the need arise.
Phase II of the project will begin in July 2008, and includes continued user training and testing of the mobile device management capabilities of the iPass service.
