They have promised to use this data to inform their decisions on expanding their business in the coming year.
This is also an experiment in social networking, as Docucopies has dedicated employees maintaining their Twitter and Facebook pages on a daily basis. They hope to engage their growing network of friends and followers in a dialogue about how best to improve the company. This applies not just to what products and services they want but to other issues that affect the overall experience, such as website usability, customer service, and quality control.
"Of our thousands and thousands of customers, probably ninety-nine percent of them are pleased with our service and quality whenever they order from us," says Marketing Director Jeff Corbo. "But every now and then people ask for a finishing service or a product we don't offer, or they're confused about something on the website or something unexpected happened in production. We want to let them know their comments are not being ignored and we're making every effort to address their concerns to better their experience working with us."
Still, expanding products and services is the main goal for 2010. Among the requests being tallied up are UV coating, perforation, and labels/stickers. At a certain point, says Corbo, the demand signals that
Docucopies needs to evolve their services.
"Not every request can be granted unfortunately," says Corbo. "It's all about critical mass. If enough people want it we will definitely add it."
