"I'm delighted to report such excellent sales results, especially when everyone is looking for positive signs of recovery in the UK economy," said Arron Harnden, MD of Shirtworks. "June was a record-breaking month for us, and compared with the slow sales in January, it's a remarkable upturn in sales." When asked which products were the most popular, Arron replied; "definitely our printed T-shirts; the summer is always a good time for t-shirts obviously, but this year the fine summer weather encouraged people to push the boat out and order lots of customised festival t-shirts. In addition, we supply many of the Oxford tourist shops with souvenir t-shirts, and they've been selling particularly well too."
"The tourist t-shirt industry has been helped by the relatively weak pound," Arron added. "When the weather is hot during their holiday, the tourists are buying t-shirts to wear during their trip as well as for friends and family back home. With the weak pound, the T-shirts are more of a bargain too, so I think that has been a huge contributing factor. Here's hoping that the hot weather returns and that this T-shirt sales trend will continue over the rest of the summer too!"
