TORONTO, CANADA, February 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- While the economy may be in a downturn, many franchises are experiencing an upswing. A number of quick service restaurants, like McDonald's Restaurants, have been benefitting from the current global recession as consumers increasingly look to ways to dine-out affordably. The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) is pleased to announce that McDonald Restaurants' Director of Franchising, Ash Vasdani, will share his company's success story with aspiring franchisees at The Franchise Show, February 21 & 22 at the Toronto Congress Centre.

Joining McDonald's in The Franchise Show's Seminar Series are leaders from expanding franchise companies including Druxy's, Entrepreneur Source, Imvescor Restaurants, PostNet and Prime Restaurants. Seminar speakers also include experts from Cassels Brock and Blackwell LLP, CIBC, Franchise Network International, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, the Office of Small to Medium Enterprise and Revenue Canada. The Seminar Series is free and open to all attendees throughout the weekend.

"We are excited to have representatives from these franchise leaders and respected support services speak at The Franchise Show Seminar Series," says Lorraine McLachlan, CFA President and CEO. "With this powerhouse collection of industry experts, The Franchise Show Seminar Series attendees will gain practical advice on what it takes to get started and be successful in franchising during any economic climate."

The Franchise Show, produced by the Canadian Franchise Association, is designed to assist people who are interested in exploring franchise opportunities and learning more about franchising. As Canada's only all-franchise show, The Franchise Show showcases many franchise opportunities available to the public from a wide range of industries including automotive services, health and fitness, business services and quick service restaurants.

With many of Canada's best-known brands along with franchise concepts that may be new to you, The Franchise Show also provides an excellent venue for attendees to get their questions answered as well as obtain valuable and current information. In addition to the Seminar Series, attendees looking for more individual consultation can visit the Ask the Experts booth, which provides the opportunity to speak one-on-one with consultants, lawyers and accountants specializing in franchising and have their specific questions answered free of charge. These experts include representatives from Pitney Bowes Business Insight, BDO Dunwoody, Two Men and a Truck, Mr. Greek and more. The CFA Resource Booth is also available to provide guidance to those hard-to-answer questions.
