PORTLAND, OR, January 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Artist Leslie Ebert has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Ebert came from a creative household which fostered an artistic nature that has propelled her entire professional career. Attending the University of Oregon, Ebert earned a bachelor's degree in Architecture. During her internship she took painting and paper-making classes at a local art center, which lead to a studio apprenticeship and, in 1991, her first art show. Ms. Ebert, then an architectural intern by day and artist apprentice by night, soon moved on to becoming a full time working artist, gaining momentum in the arts through volunteerism. As a member of the American Institute of Architects, Leslie got involved with her local chapters' gallery board, which was responsible for selecting new exhibits. She joined the artist owned co-op Waterstone Gallery and became their publicity chair, where she was soon invited to join the founding board of directors for Art in the Pearl, now one of the country's prominent art festivals. Ebert went on to volunteer as a regional coordinator for SLMM, an arts organization for artists working with holism; this lead to a 3 year Jury appointment on their membership committee. Her acquisition of skills and fervor for her work led her to independently open the Leslie Ebert Studio.

Over the course of the past 25 years, Ms. Ebert's artwork has traversed several art mediums. Beginning with paper and print making, where she pushed at the boundaries of how to combine processes, this led to explorations in collage with acrylics that morphed into mixed media paintings. As those paintings became more about Ebert's interest in the empty space in-between things, where light, energy and vibration are at work in the background of our lives. Ebert began picking up a camera to document light as reference material. These early studies evolved into her current work, painterly photography of light and its environs. Today, Ms Ebert uses macro photography to dissect rays of light into their most basic colors and structures, revealing a visual language for theoretical physics and concepts of an interconnected universe.

Her artistic transitions are evident in the vast spectrum of galleries and exhibits that have gained her participation; such as 'the Winter exhibit' at the National Association of Women Artists Gallery, 'Primarily Colors' at the Atlantic Gallery, and 'the 126th anniversary exhibit of NAWA' at the Sylvia Wald & Po Kim Art Gallery, in New York City. As well as the exhibits 'Who are You,' and 'Collision', at the Center of Contemporary Art, in Seattle Wa.. Ebert's most recent solo exhibit 'Phenomena' at Sage Gallery in Portland, Oregon and group exhibits; 'The Creative Muse' at the Banana Factory Art Center, Bethlehem, Pa,, and 'In-VISIBLE' at Point Park University's, Lawrence Hall Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA., have captured the attention of arts writers.

With two retrospective shows behind her, the most recent at Museum Contempo, Shelton, Washington, Ms. Ebert's artworks have not gone without recognition. Early on in her career she won several cash awards that helped fund the opening of her arts studio. More recently her artwork has been curated into the Oregon Artist Collection created by Austin Industries Corporate, and is part of the Women in Photography International Archive at Yale University's Beinecke Library.

Ms. Ebert is a member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Society of Layerists in Multi-Media, and Professional Women Photographers. Her artwork is in private collections internationally, images of her artwork have been included in a number of publications and exhibit catalogues, including: Diffusion; Unconventional Photography Annual, Volume IV, and Visual Journeys; Art of the 21st Century'.

Taking on a new chapter, Ms. Ebert's first book, "Traces of Creation; Phenomena," is now available through her website as a signed and numbered limited edition; it contains more than 120 color images capturing the nature and physical structures of light, revealed to us through macro digital photography. As a result of her successes, she has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in American Art. Most recently, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who's Who.
