The press conference highlighted the most important details and developments of the event. The race kicks start on Friday, 9 April 2010, and is expected to witness a large participation base from both Jordan and abroad. Its proceeds shall got for the support of the SCNP, the main organizers of Ultra Marathon in Jordan.
On his part, the Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant, Mr. Kevin Cha said: "LG Electronics is proud to be the first platinum sponsor of this charitable undertaking, which we annually support for the 17th year successively. This initiative gives us, and all the Jordanian community, a sense of pride and achievement. DSUM reflects the increasing social awareness towards social integration, especially that the proceeds of DSUM shall contribute to bearing the expensive surgical operations for patients in need".
DSUM pre-set run map is starting from Medical City St. in Amman and ending in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. This event gives the opportunity for people of all age groups to participate, even if they are under the age of 15.
The marathon consists of 5 runs, the Ultra Marathon track which is 50 Km, the Marathon track 42 Km, Half Marathon 21 Km, the 10 Km track, and the kids track with 4.2 Km.
LG Electronics is the platinum sponsor of the 17th edition of DSUM 2010, which is organized in cooperation with Greater Amman Municipality (GAM). LG has always participated in all the social responsibility programs that positively impact the community, and help advance its prosperity.
