Lili Tuioti Honored for Excellence in Strategic Planning

Ms. Tuioti provides Pacific women with opportunities in consulting

As a trained and qualified secondary school teacher, Ms. Tuioti rose in her career to the position of school principal quite quickly.

MOUNT ROSKILL, NEW ZEALAND, May 14, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lili Tuioti, Chief Pacifica Advisor of New Zealand Qualifications Authority has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in strategic planning.

Ms. Tuioti brings 25 years of professional experience to her role as the Chief Pacifica Advisor of New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). As an expert in education strategic planning, she utilizes a vast range of skills and knowledge in leadership and senior management roles.

As a trained and qualified secondary school teacher, Ms. Tuioti rose in her career to the position of school principal quite quickly. After achieving her professional goals in this role over five years, she established a consultancy with the primary aim of providing Pacific women with opportunities in professional consultancies. After seven years, this consultancy was flourishing and providing employment opportunities for many women. She sought a position located in Samoa and began work for a small, isolated island nation called Tokelau. Though she had the job title of Education Adviser, as a senior manager within the public service she took on various roles and in particular strategic planning and monitoring throughout the various government departments. After 10 years of exciting strategic engagement that included high level governmental and international exposure, she decided she wanted to be closer to her family and resigned to return to New Zealand. She is currently supporting a Pacific Charter School being established in Auckland and will commence her new role with NZQA in early May. She attributes her success to the great work ethic her parents instilled in her. As the first of her family to achieve a university degree, Ms. Tuioti's ascension in her career and profession is an inspiration to them. This has been achieved through the support and sacrifices of her parents to migrate to New Zealand and her tenacity to navigate a career pathway which few of her peers have accomplished.

Ms. Tuioti received a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting and economics and a Diploma in Teaching from The University of Auckland in 1980. In 1993, she was presented with the Women's Suffrage Medal. Ms. Tuioti intends to progress her career in the public sector and hopes to one day be leading an organization or government agency.
