/24-7PressRelease/ - New York, NY, July 3, 2008, Linda C. Colon, Registered Nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of nursing.

Ms. Colon began her healthcare career 11 years ago, inspired by a nurse who helped her both physically and mentally while she was confined in the intensive care unit. Now recognized as an expert in medical-surgical nursing and research, she is responsible for overseeing the medical-surgical unit and supervising clinical trials, admissions and discharge, and caring for patients. Prior to joining New York-Presbyterian Hospital, she worked as a nurse liaison manager, obstetrician and gynecologist in the ambulatory care unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; as a registered nurse at Elmhurst Hospital Center; and as an oncology nurse at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. She considers making a difference in the lives of patients to be the most rewarding aspect of her work.

In addition to being a Registered Nurse, Ms. Colon holds an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from LaGuardia Community College CUNY. She has been honored with the New York State Nursing Student Leadership Award and the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, and was featured in Newsday in 1998. She stays current with the trends in her profession by enrolling in continuing education courses and reading Nursing Spectrum. Ms. Colon aspires to open her own clinic in the future.
