    /Cambridge Who's Who/ - Lafayette, CA, August 9, 2008, Lisa Tremont Ota, Owner and President of SacredBite, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in all aspects of health and nutrition.

Ms. Ota specializes in educating people regarding the relationship between health and spirituality. Her innovative website, www.sacredbite.com, inspires us to nourish our relationship with food for the benefit of our individual, communal, and environmental well-being. She enjoys developing programs that help people recover the body-centered spirituality necessary to restore a natural relationship with the environment. Her message about the unbreakable links between the divine and food is the result of over twenty years of academic, professional, and personal exploration.

A Registered Dietitian with degrees in both nutrition and spirituality, Ms. Ota is highly and uniquely qualified to help us understand our dynamic relationship with food. In 1990, she graduated with High Honors from The University of California, Berkeley, with a Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition and received the Public Health Alumni Scholarship. In 1987, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics and received the UC Berkeley Nutritional Sciences Departmental Citation Award. She received her Master's Degree in Culture and Creation Spirituality from Holy Names College in 1996 and has completed coursework in Special Studies through The Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley.

Ms. Ota's current accomplishments include contributing to Originally Blessed, a newly published response to Matthew Fox's Original Blessing and to The Social Cause Diet, Gail Johnson's inspiring collection of stories by everyday heroes who are enjoying the rich and satisfying benefits of "giving back," due for release August 15th. She has interviewed Thomas McNamee, author of Alice Waters and Chez Panisse: The Romantic, Impractical, Often Eccentric, Ultimately Brilliant Making of a Food Revolution, on behalf of the Commonwealth Club of California, and, most recently, appeared on KGO TV's The View from the Bay where she spoke about the importance of eating slowly and shared a simple food meditation: http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=view_from_the_bay/health_fitness&id=6279986 This Fall, Lisa will complete training in shamanic soul coaching from the Integrative Arts Institute.
