RALEIGH, NC, January 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Living Poetry's web domain, http://www.livingpoetry.net, is a brand new medium for the Raleigh-Durham region to connect through poetry readings, creative workshops and lecture series. A simple navigation frame and user-friendly tabs deliver local event and poet information.

Living Poetry was founded by Angelika Teuber, an internationally published poet, just one year ago and consisted of a monthly poetry reading. "I loved the idea of people coming together just to read and appreciate poems for what they are, like the characters in the film Dead Poets Society," said Teuber. "I wanted to bring that to life and hear the work of living poets as well."

The monthly reading soon proved to be insufficient and members requested more frequent sessions. Poetry brunches were added to the schedule and membership grew again. Then members' enthusiasm and demand prompted the conception of creative workshops where writers come together and collaborate through poetry exercises and critiques while motivating and inspiring each other. With more members interested in learning from published poets, the Poet Local Series was conceived, a casual lecture held every other month starting January 31, 2010 where members can learn directly from published poets.

It is with the same passion and insistence of members that brought Living Poetry's website and e-newsletter to fruition. Membership to Living Poetry is free. Increasing membership, interest and creativity from the residents of the Triangle-area prompted the need for a clear delivery vehicle that now exists as Living Poetry's website, http://www.livingpoetry.net.
