Pardee Homes has earned new honors for its neighborhood designs, green-built homes and sustainable community planning, with LivingSmart Homes at Fair Oaks Ranch in the Santa Clarita Valley. Named Green Community of the Year/Suburban in the 2011 SoCal Awards, LivingSmart Homes was also a Finalist as Neighborhood of the Year. Its construction superintendent, Mike Carrillo, was named Builder Community Superintendent of the Year, one of three superintendents to be so honored.
Pardee's new, high-performance, cost-saving LivingSmart Homes are certified at the Gold level of the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). NGBS is the world's only green building rating system approved by the American National Standards Institute.
"We have been building green since 1998, and with NGBS Gold, celebrate
a top achievement of that commitment," noted Joyce Mason, vice president of marketing for Pardee Homes and a Certified Green Professional. "Pardee Homes is California's first production homebuilder to commit to building an entire new home project to
NGBS standards, which surpass CalGreen criteria."
LivingSmart Homes are priced from the $400,000s and offer approximately 1,846 to 2,432 square feet of living space. The homes'
varied and versatile designs incorporate some 30 green features, including solar power systems as standard.
The homes are part of Fair Oaks Ranch, an established master-planned community close to freeways, Metrolink, shopping, dining and services. Within the community are the K-6 Fair Oaks Ranch Community School and its playgrounds and sports fields; a hiking and walking trail, Fair Oaks Ranch Park, hundreds of acres of open space and a resort-style recreation center.
"Judges saw that these homes provide really great value, especially for first time and young family buyers," said Lisa Parrish, Judging Chairman of the SoCal Awards. "Because judges toured the model home center, they experienced the homes with the eyes of the consumer, and came away very impressed with the level of quality Pardee Homes delivers."
The SoCal Awards honor superior achievement in sales, marketing and merchandising excellence. The Sales & Marketing Councils that the program represents are part of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc. Judges represent a cross section of home building's professional disciplines, and toured all eligible communities. SoCal Awards celebrated all winners September 24 at The Grove in Anaheim.
