SANDY SPRINGS, GA, August 17, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leadership from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), combined with local Georgia Chiropractic Association (GCA) represented the interests of the chiropractic profession and its patients at the National Conference of State Legislatures' (NCSL) Legislative Summit, which took place Aug. 12-15 in Atlanta, Ga at the Georgia World Congress Center. Local Chiropractor, GCA & ACA member, Dr. Erika Henry (Sandy Springs) was able to donate time to participate in NCSL at the ACA's booth on August 14th.
While there, Erika Henry, DC talked with legislators, staff members and other vendors about the importance of chiropractic care, the role chiropractors serve as primary care providers, and how changes in healthcare reform might impact the chiropractic field. She spoke with Representative Vanessa Brown (PA) about chiropractic being a cost-effective option especially for those dealing with neck & back pain. While Ms. Brown was at the booth Dr. Henry was able to advise some simple scalene, rhomboid and trapezius stretches she could perform while in meetings at the Legislative Summit.
Each summer, NCSL brings thousands of legislators and staff together for the largest meeting of its kind in the United States, allowing policymakers to network and exchange ideas. The 2013 Legislative Summit brings nearly 5,500 in attendance for the four days of 100+ policy sessions on the most pressing issues facing state legislatures, including budget conditions and health care reform implementation.
