With Hispanic families making up 25% of the population of Oakland, the Cesar E. Chavez library has been a reliable resource, allowing children to maintain their cultural identity while expanding their reading skills. The first library exclusively dedicated to the Spanish-speaking community, the Cesar E. Chavez library today houses over 18,500 Spanish language items. To further grow the range of resources available to the library's patrons, FarFaria is providing all branches of the Oakland Public library with unlimited free access to their growing collection of Spanish and English children's eBooks for use in the library's pilot tablet program.

"We chose to make this donation to the Cesar E. Chavez library to give back to Oakland and the parents and teachers here who support us. We are proud to support Oakland Public Library's commitment to literacy and education on this holiday and throughout the year," says Kate Whiting, Educents co-founder and CEO.
