LOCAL SINGER-SONGWRITER FINDS NEW VOICE IN A VIRTUAL WORLD FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

/24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, February 13, 2008 - Beginning the week of February 11, 2008, IAC's hugely popular virtual world Zwinktopia will play host to a number of interactive, online Valentine's Day parties featuring specific genres of music, and offering a new avenue for independent musicians to get their music heard.

With pro-Valentine's and anti-Valentine's parties that cater to fans of Alternative & Indie Rock music, DJ/Mix music, Hip Hop/R&B/Pop and Singer/Songwriters, Zwinky users are exposed to a number of smaller artists that are recruited to fill in the sounds in the background, and Laura Ault is taking advantage.

Ault' s songs run the gamut from strong and sassy, to soft and romantic; she appeals to a female audience, making Zwinky an ideal outlet for her: the site boasts a 70% female demographic, from ages 13 - 40 years old. She's the first of her musician friends to experiment with a technological frontier such as Zwinky, but hopes the thousands of visitors the Zwinky site gets will translate into big numbers on her MySpace page, in both friends and plays.

"It's exciting to know there are thousands of people hearing my voice and my music for the first time," Laura said, "especially in the midst of some of the nation's top music artists. I'm thrilled!"

Long-term, Ault hopes the fans she picks up through Zwinky stick around for her EP, to be released in 2008. She recognizes the importance of Web2.0 in the music world, but admits it's still strange to worry about booking a virtual world for Valentine's Day - let alone a gig at the venue down the street.

To participate in the Zwinky holiday parties, log on to www.zwinky.com to create an avatar and explore the virtual world.
