/24-7PressRelease/ -- Local Chevrolet dealership, Superior Chevrolet, is undergoing a transformation into a Kia dealership that will open in early September. This recent trend of former General Motors dealers transforming their locations into new business ventures can be seen on a national scale, but Superior Chevrolet is the first to make the switch locally. The Superior Automotive Group currently owns four dealerships around the Greater Cincinnati area and has been in the automotive industry since the 1920s.
"We thoroughly enjoyed working with GM, but unfortunately Superior Chevy was one of the closed dealerships when the auto industry took a hit," president of the Superior Automotive Group John Betagole said. "We have been pursuing the possibility of partnering with Kia for quite some time, and after GM made this decision Kia jumped on the opportunity to take advantage of our central location in Greater Cincinnati."
Most Chevrolet Dealership employees were transferred to other Superior locations and some accepted the severance package offered by the dealership. The future Superior Kia is in the process of hiring for its September opening and will employ about 30 at the start and add staff as necessary.
