Blue Mound Self Storage owner Ron Sturgeon's new May steak dinner storage promotion isn't popular with everyone.
"I hate the idea," said Elsie McMoo, a bovine spokesperson for nearby herds of
Texas longhorns. "None of the longhorns like it, and there is no telling what they might do unless the Texas storage company steers clear of this misguided promotion," said McMoo.
The cattle are anticipating support from vegetarian celebrities, such as
actress Jessica Biel and singer Alanis Morissette, both of whom are well known for supporting animal rights.
"We're going ahead with our offer to give a free steak dinner at Chef Point Cafe to anyone who rents a storage space from us during the month of May," said David Brannon. "We gave away MP3 players with every rental during April, and we think this promotion will be just us popular," said Brannon. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with what we're doing."
Every person who rents a 5 by 8 or larger storage unit will receive a gift card to Watauga's Chef Point Cafe, a
Ft Worth TX gourmet restaurant known for its steaks, seafood, and bread pudding.
"We're glad to have a chance to introduce Chef Point to some new people," said Paula Nwaeze, owner of the gourmet family restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives last February. "If someone has a problem with eating steak, we will be glad to help them find something else on the menu," said Nwaeze.

Haslet TX self storage facility owner Ron Sturgeon, who also vowed to milk the controversy for all it's worth.
