/24-7PressRelease/ -- On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 nonprofit organization Lorenzo Jackson Foundation will hold its First Benefit Gala at the Rush Arts Gallery from 6-8pm in New York. The purpose of the gala will be to introduce the foundation and it's mission to sponsor deserving high school seniors living with HIV and AIDS that are seeking a college education. In support of this very worthy cause, Lorenzo Jackson Foundation will roll out the red carpet to a host of notable and influential celebrities and invited guests. Jasmine Sanders from WBLS 107.5 and actress Chyna Layne who will be starring in Lee Daniels highly anticipated film PUSH will co-host this inaugural event. Lorenzo Jackson Foundation Founder Alexander Everett says "It is my hope that we as people recognize the importance of this cause and the strength that lie in these young men and women whom we will be honoring and supporting. HIV/AIDS is a widely spread epidemic and it is due to lack of education and community and therefore there cannot be enough emphasis on education and community. We must come together as one to commend these young adolescents that are so diligently moving forward to seek higher education and serving as a source of inspiration for all of us to fight and succeed and we must continue to educate others." With a highly enthusiastic and informative program underway, guests will enjoy live entertainment, an art exhibition and silent auction, audience giveaways, and so much more.
Lorenzo Jackson Foundation is a not-for-profit 501 3 organization and is aggressively seeking one million dollars in sponsorship and has already launched several community outreach initiatives that will continue to raise awareness to the purpose and mission of the foundation. There is an ongoing dollar campaign looking to people to one million people worldwide with the simple logic that if every person gave a minimum of $1.00, Lorenzo Jackson Foundation would be successful in reaching their goal.
