Lori A. McBride Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Occupational Health Services

    INDIANAPOLIS, IN, February 19, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lori A. McBride, Director of Onsite Services for Indiana University Health, was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. This special distinction honors individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to achieving personal and professional success.

Indiana University Health focuses on onsite clinics which are placed in or near client companies where medical professionals perform urgent care, primary care and occupational care services for the employees and dependants and spouses. The center also provides wellness screenings, and occupational health training and instruction. In her role as director of onsite services, Ms. McBride consults with client companies, directs practice managers and collaborates with hospital supervisors. Her other tasks involve overseeing the employee occupational health department, handling wellness screenings, and training in health and safety practices.

Ms. McBride has nearly 30 years of experience in the health profession, with 17 years as director of onsite services for Indiana University Health. Her areas of expertise include healthcare management, nursing, employee benefits and customer service. A registered nurse, she has progressed throughout her career in management and administration.

Always open to change, Ms. McBride attributes her success to continuing her education. She became involved in her profession because she liked studying science and helping people. She began as an RN, but discovered that she preferred working in preventative medicine and wellness, so she eventually moved into the occupational health field.

Ms. McBride received her Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Indiana University and an associate degree in nursing, also from Indiana State University. In addition to being an RN, she is a certified occupational health nurse specialist. Recognized for her efforts, Ms. McBride was honored with the Leadership Award from the Indiana Occupational Health Association in 2012. In her spare time, she serves as a member of The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Inc. and volunteers with the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She also enjoys boating or reading a good book whenever she is not working. In the years to come, Ms. McBride hopes to have a more regional outreach for Indiana University Health's educational programs.
