Los Gatos Research Now Offers Eight High Speed and High Precision Analyzers for Eddy Covariance Measurements with Reduced Cost of Ownership

Los Gatos Research continuously expanding line of trace gas analyzers includes more choices of high speed and high precision multiple trace gas analyzers for use in eddy covariance research.

MOUNTAIN VIEW CA, July 03, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Los Gatos Research (LGR), the leader in precision trace gas analyzers, today announced that it has expanded the high speed (10 Hz) trace gas analyzer line to include as many as seven different trace gases with various combinations available in eight different products. The trace gases that can be measured include carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), ammonia (NH3), and carbonyl sulfide (OCS or COS). These analyzers can connect them to an existing data logger or can connect to an (optional) LGR Multi-Channel Data Logging System that synchronizes serial (RS-232) outputs from a single or multiple LGR analyzers and other devices such as GPS or sonic anemometers and records all data with a common time stamp.

"Our high speed, high precision analyzers can save tens of thousands of dollars over other alternatives and include fully automated operation, and Ethernet and wireless connectivity. They provide a tremendous flexibility for eddy covariance researchers since they are designed to be deployed in unmanned monitoring stations where many of these trace gases have never been measured before," says Dr. Douglas Baer, President of LGR.

LGR high speed and high precision gas analyzers are based on the company's patented technology, a fourth-generation, cavity-enhanced laser absorption spectroscopy technique. This unique approach is both more rugged and more precise than earlier cavity-enhanced techniques, such as conventional cavity ringdown spectroscopy, because LGR instruments do not need ultra-precise alignment or sub nanometer stability of its optics, or a high degree of thermal control. This ensures higher absolute accuracy, longer maintenance intervals, higher reliability, and reduced cost of ownership.

About Los Gatos Research
LGR (www.LGRinc.com) is the leading innovator of instrumentation for measurements of trace gases and isotopes based on cavity enhanced laser absorption spectroscopy techniques. LGR instruments are used to measure gases, liquids and isotope ratios in atmospheric and environmental monitoring, medical diagnostics, industrial process control, and homeland security. LGR instruments have been deployed by scientists worldwide for ultra-precise measurements on all seven continents using research towers, unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile laboratories, research and commercial aircraft, and deep-sea submersibles. Based in Mountain View, California, LGR has been in business since 1994 and markets instruments worldwide directly and through distributors.
