/24-7PressRelease/ - REYKJAVIK, ICELAND, September 22, 2007 - mySupermarket.co.uk has this week added the 'Health Checker' to its supermarket price comparison site. The new tool allows shoppers to check and compare the nutritional value of every product at four major UK supermarkets.

mySupermarket is the UK's only independent shopping comparison web site, providing price comparisons for online supermarkets ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Ocado (Waitrose). The new automatic Health Checker uses the UK Food Standards Agency's approved 'traffic light system' which enables online shoppers to see the fat, saturated fat, sugar and salt level of every supermarket product.

mySupermarket allows UK residents to shop for cheaper, healthier products without the hassle of going to a busy supermarket. Simple and stress-free, shoppers browse the highly-visual cyber shelves of their chosen supermarket, confident in the knowledge that when they get to check out, mySupermarket will offer cheaper and healthier alternatives.

Shoppers can compare and swap products at their leisure and even send their whole virtual trolley to a cheaper supermarket. By typing in a postcode, shoppers can also find out which of the four supermarkets offer home delivery.

Johnny Stern, Director of mySupermarket, said, "Many shoppers have told us that health is just as important as money when it comes to selecting products at the supermarket." Nutrition Consultant Juliette Kellow said the new nutrition information tool had the potential to help people make better decisions about their diet and improve their health over time.

No supermarkets or product manufacturers hold stakes in mySupermarket - the site is entirely owned by a group of UK private investors and mySupermarket employees.
