/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Louis Sweum, Retired Chief of Safety and Security at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of safety and security compliance.
Mr. Sweum held the position of chief of safety and security at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for 10 years. As such, his responsibilities included ensuring compliance, conducting safety inspections, implementing accreditation standards, consulting with other professionals in the field, and acting as a fire marshal. According to Mr. Sweum, his success can be attributed to his passion for his profession and his goal-oriented nature.
Mr. Sweum completed Life Safety Code coursework that covered the topics of reducing the spread of fire in high rise structural architecture and compartmentalization. Mr. Sweum was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on March 31st, 1968 and is a former CPL in the Iowa Army National Guard. He is a former vice president of the Siouxland Industrial Safety Council and a special deputy sheriff at St. Luke's Medical Center. He was a member of Yuma Says No to Drugs, a former advisory committee member for the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, the Arizona Narcotics Officers Association sponsor, and honorary member of the Arizona County Attorney's and Sheriff's Association.
