Cabot manufactures the industry's broadest line of quality interior and exterior wood stains, protective finishes and surface preparation products for both residential and commercial applications. Cabot is part of Valspar, Inc.
The turnkey system being provided by LT Technologies will be integrated into a new process Cabot has developed for manufacturing a durable, water-based paint product. The customized system from LT Technologies will enable Cabot to meet its stringent requirements for consistent water quality in its new production process.
This innovative process utilizes special resins for ionic removal of contaminants in feed water coming from a challenging source. LT Technologies developed a quality standard with Cabot that enables the organization to consistently meet or exceed their water quality requirements event with significant seasonal variations in its feed water quality. This involved engineering a resin blend that provides both good capacity for removal of harmful ions as well as a water quality management process that provides the best cost- per-gallon of water produced. This is good example of how LT Technologies works to integrate lower-cost commodity components into engineered solutions that allow for precise and consistent solutions to variable problems with water and water processes.
