/24-7PressRelease/ - HOUSTON, TX, December 08, 2007 - From now until April 20, 2008, The Renaissance Houston Hotel Greenway Plaza is featuring an exclusive Houston hotel package, built around the Houston Museum of Natural Science's exhibit, "Lucy's Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia."

The world premier of "Lucy's Legacy" is going on now at the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Albert & Ethel Herzstein Hall of Special Exhibitions in the Houston museum district. Known as the cradle of mankind, Ethiopia is rich in history and culture. This once-in-a-lifetime exhibit features not only the fossil of Lucy, but over 100 other artifacts from dynasties Ethiopians believe stretch back to the son of the biblical King Solomon and Queen of Sheba.

Donald Johanson and Tom Gray found "Lucy" on November 24, 1974 in a ravine at Hadar in Northern Ethiopia. The small-sized fossils and scull proved later to be the oldest and most complete human form found on African soil. From the rock-laden churches of Lalibela to the ancient obelisks at Axum, "Lucy's Legacy" tells the story of Ethiopia's history over the last five million years.

The exhibit is broken down into two distinctive parts. The story of ancient Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Aksum begin the exhibit and seamless flows to the fossil, Lucy's story and other Homo Sapien forms that lived over 200,000 years ago, in what's now known as Ethiopia.

The international exhibit is organized by The Houston Museum of Natural Science in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Exhibition Coordinating Committee. National Funding is provided by The Smith Foundation and Ethiopian Airlines. Houston also has been aided in local funding by METRO, BP, The Hamill Foundation, the Albert & Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation and TEXAS MONTHLY.

Guests coming to Houston specifically for this world-renowned exhibit are invited to stay at luxury Houston hotel near the Galleria. The Renaissance has created an exclusive Houston vacation package for visitors to the museum with a hotel package which includes:
• Deluxe guestroom accommodations
• Breakfast buffet for each guest
• Lucy's Legacy exhibit ticket for each guest for the Houston Museum of Natural Science
