HOLLYWOOD, FL, January 20, 2010
/24-7PressRelease/ -- For the first time, the Republic of Macedonian immigrants, residents, and friends will unite in South Florida to celebrate the country's rich cultural heritage. The program will take place on Friday, February 5 from 6pm-9pm at Hollywood's ArtsPark at US1 and Hollywood Boulevard. Celebrations include Macedonian dancing, Macedonian fare, video of the country, costumes, and stories of the country. Music is provided by the ever popular "Balkan Band" performing favorites from the region.
The event is free and open to the public and is hosted by the Saint Dimitrija Macedonian Orthodox Church located in Palm Beach Gardens and the Republic of Macedonia Honorary Consulate General's office in downtown Hollywood.
Macedonia is most known for Alexander the Great's historic conquests and is today known as one of the up and coming hot spots in Eastern Europe. Formerly a part of Yugoslavia located between Greece, Albania, Serbia, and Bulgaria, the small country houses 2 million people and is roughly the size of Vermont. Though positioned to join the EU, Macedonia already has all the trade agreements in place allowing businesses to take advantage of a full marketplace of 650 million people in Europe alone. Primed as the new business mecca in Europe, Macedonia is actively recruiting businesses to the area with tax breaks and incentives, low business costs, and a highly educated and available labor force. The country is totally hi tech and wi-fi with a new, stable infrastructure, and a parliamentary democracy government. To learn more, visit http://www.exploringmacedonia.com.
