/24-7PressRelease/ -- They will be performing some of the timeless Swedish band's pop classics such as Dancing Queen, Knowing me Knowing you and Super Trouper.
The appearance of Abba Revival at Peak Village, in Rowsley near Matlock, is the second tribute band to perform at the shopping village; last weekend, shoppers were treated to the excellent vocals and music of the Stoned Angels, the top Rolling Stones tribute act.
Martin Langsdale of Peak Village said: "With the recent success of Mamma Mia! the movie, we thought it would be fantastic to bring the well known and much loved music of Abba to Peak Village for shoppers and visitors to enjoy at Saturday lunch time. The Stoned Angels were a huge success last weekend and all the visitors to Peak Village really enjoyed the performance - there was a great atmosphere at the village and we know that the free performance on Saturday 4 October will have at least the same effect. We are keeping our fingers crossed for another decent weather day like we had last weekend."
Lisa (Frida) of Abba Revival says of the bands talents: "It's not just a case of singing the songs. You almost have to become Abba and live the dream. Every line of every song, every nuance of each verse and chorus is ingrained in the audience's consciousness and we don't have any margin for error. Everybody knows how it should sound, and should look, so we are always equally excited and nervous before each and every show."
Stuart Hollings, the booking agent for Abba Revival, says that the band never fails to give an impeccable performance and really knows how to get the audience going. "Their sheer passion for the music of Abba and recreating the genius of the band means that the visitors at Peak Village are in for a real treat".
These events are the first in series of planned attractions at Peak Village in the run up to the Christmas season. Peak Village is home to nearly 20 retailers including national names like Cotton Traders, Leading Labels, Ponden Mill, The Cook Shop and Mountain Warehouse. The outlet shopping centre attracts 750,000 visitors a year and offers visitors the opportunity to combine shopping with other local attractions. Peak Village is located in Rowsley on the Chatsworth Road between Bakewell and Matlock.
Both Abba Revival and Stoned Angels can be seen again live on stage, later in the year when they are performing full sets at The Maynard, in Grindleford, just 10 miles away from Peak Village, on 22 November and 6 December respectively.
